We have one floating dock (230x37 m.) and one graving dock (235x40 m.), both are panamax sized. Additionally we have a long berthing area for our works and also for ship owners' works so that they don' t need to wait in the anchorage for their voyage preparations.
Location of the shipyard is different from the other Turkish repair yards which is also an advantage against congestion interfering repairs. As we are very well organized for transportation matters; while having the advantage of "a shipyard out of congestion", we avoid delays regarding distances. (For example; we have 2 fast boats servicing 24 hours across two sides, also we have passenger cars/trucks waiting on both port to be used if necessary…)
Another advantage is our own workshops located in the shipyard. (For example; air cooler overhauling job is carried out in the shipyard, not in a workshop outside
Our main concerns are keeping the repair period promise, quality of workmanship, mutual satisfaction after finalizing invoice of the vessel.
We have already carried out big projects like full ballast tank coating, 1200 tons of steelwork renewal, ramp works with important shipping companies such as Avin International, Grimaldi, UN Ro Ro, Bernard Schulte. (In our new building arm, we are now building lpg carriers and chemical tankers to European owners)
Besides all these, safety is one of our strongest part. Same as in our ship management department we do have HSEQ dept. in the organization of the shipyard management.
Besiktas Shipyard also has following certifications from Bureau Veritas: ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007. While being a very well organized and modern shipyard, Besiktas Group is also owner and manager of tanker vessels. Our management has been reviewed by Exxon-Mobil' IMT, BP, Total, OMV Austria and Neste Finland. So that we are on their list of owners which they may have tonnage from us for their COA and T/C requirements. We had and have vessels on T/C to BP. Presently we are the full manager of two tankers solely owned and built by BP Shipping International
